TIME FOR US is a great camping opportunity for teens from 11 to 17 years of age at Lutherdale Adventure Camp in Elkhorn, WI, who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or a similar diagnosis. While most of each day is spent on fun camp activities - ropes challenge, tower climbing, canoeing, water sports, field sports, etc. - a portion of the time focuses on an understanding of Alzheimer’s and memory challenges.
Campers will gain knowledge, coping skills, peer support and relationships that may assist them for years to come. The innovative curriculum allows campers to experience nature up close, eat healthy meals and learn about toxins and the connection between healthy food and their health.
The camp is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin and forMemory, a network of persons affected by early memory challenges, with support from Wheat Ridge Ministries. We welcome persons of all faiths and world views.
