Time for Us summer camp
TIME FOR US is a great camping opportunity for teens from 10 to 18 years of age at Lutherdale Adventure Camp in Elkhorn, WI, who have a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, or similar Memory/cognitive challenges. While most of each day is spent on fun camp activities - ropes challenge, tower climbing, canoeing, water sports, field sports, etc. - a portion of the time focuses on an understanding of Alzheimer’s and memory challenges.
Campers will gain knowledge, coping skills, peer support and relationships that may assist them for years to come. The innovative curriculum allows campers to experience nature up close, eat healthy meals and learn about toxins and the connection between healthy food and their health.
This year TIME FOR US will also work on planning and implementing
Slow Walking Trails, making special quiet connections with nature more available to all ages and abilities.
New for 2016… We are encouraging more adults to participate in a side by side camp experience at the same time. The adult version is meant for care partners, relatives, persons who work with seniors and people wanting to communicate better and understand more about cognitive health.
